NYC Subway Delays: These 9 Lines Were Hit By Slowdowns
Rain wasn't the only thing greeting straphangers Monday morning — delays on at least nine MTA subway lines slowed commutes.

NEW YORK CITY — Straphangers headed to work got hit by a one-two Monday morning punch: rain and subway delays.
At least nine subway lines ran behind during rush hour as MTA crews dealt with track fires, mechanical issues and switch malfunctions, officials said.
Trains along the 2 and 5 lines were delayed after FDNY firefighters extinguished a track fire at Bronx Park East, the MTA posted at 7:45 a.m.

D, F, N and Q trains ran with delays in both directions because of a switch malfunction at Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, according to a 7:50 a.m. post.
Likewise, trains on the 1 line saw slowdowns because of a switch problem at Van Cortlandt Park-242th Street, the MTA posted at 7:05 a.m.

A/D trains headed north ran with delays after a car with problems had to be removed at 125th Street, a 7:42 a.m. post stated. The issue appeared to be resolved by 8:30 a.m.
And, for those New Yorkers wondering about the weather, the rain looked unlikely to clear up until about noon, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
