NEW YORK CITY — Thunder and rain that awoke New Yorkers will give way to a dreary Thursday — and could return later in the evening, forecasters say.
Storms could linger until 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
But don't expect sunny skies after the rain clears.

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will linger during the late evening hours, mainly after 11 p.m., according to the forecast. Wind gusts could reach as high as 23 mph, the forecast states.
Friday carries a slight chance of rain as temperatures reach near 90 degrees, according to the forecast. Showers and thunderstorms could hit again that day after 2 p.m., the forecast states.
