NYC Weather: Near 100-Degree Heat Will Return This Week
Enjoy the cooler weather the last few days? That ends Tuesday, as temperatures creep back over 90 degrees and will keep rising.
NEW YORK CITY — Sweltering heat is poised to return to New York City this week and make a sweaty run at breaking records, forecasters say.
Highs will near 100 degrees Thursday in the city as another potential heat wave broils the East Coast, according to an AccuWeather report.

"The Big Apple will take a run at approaching or exceeding its seasonal high on Thursday," the AccuWeather report states.
New York City recently — and thankfully — ended an extended heat wave that ran for six straight days from July 19 to 24, according to AccuWeather.

Temperatures since then dropped to a still-hot, but more bearable 80-degree range. Monday's weather, coupled with morning rain, was even cooler and could be the last bit of heat relief New Yorkers have for days.
The heat will hit 91 degrees Tuesday and 89 degrees Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
Thursday it will hit 98 degrees, the forecast states.
