NEW YORK — Keep those umbrellas handy. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to batter New York City on Wednesday, forecasters say.
The temperature Wednesday will climb to a high of 81, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered thunderstorms could hit the city starting Wednesday afternoon and into the night.
New York could see as much as an inch of rain by Wednesday night, forecasters say.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Low around 67. South wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. West wind around 9 mph.
