NYC Weekend Weather: Cooler Temps, Showers Could Wash Over City
Looking for a good beach day? Saturday could be it, because a chance of rain enters the forecast Sunday, meteorologists say.
NEW YORK CITY — Had enough of sweltering New York City summer days? This weekend could provide sweet relief, along with a sprinkle of rain.
Highs on Saturday will stay at 79 degrees, noticeably cooler than the hot temperatures this week, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
But Saturday could also be the best bet for a beach day.

A chance of rain enters the forecast about 9 p.m. that evening and carries into Sunday.
"A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm," the forecast states.

Aside from Sunday's 30 percent chance of rain, the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees.
