Veterans Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In NYC
Here's what to know before planning your weekend.

NEW YORK, NY — Veterans Day falls on a Saturday this year, but some New York City offices are marking it a day early. City government offices and courts are closed on Friday, Nov. 10, though schools will still be open.
Some other workers, including mail carriers, get Saturday off to mark the holiday. Here's a look at how Veterans Day is impacting the city so you can plan ahead for the weekend.
Friday, Nov. 10
- New York City government offices, courts and all public library branches are closed.
- City public schools are open.
- Alternate side parking rules are suspended (though parking meters and other regulations remain in effect).
- Mail delivery will happen as usual.
- Trash, recycling and organics pickup will stick to the regular schedule.
- The Staten Island Ferry will run on a regular weekday schedule.
Saturday, Nov. 11
- City government offices and all public library branches are closed.

- There will be no mail delivery.
