Armed Robber Flees With Cigarettes, Cash In Bellerose Terrace

BREAKING: The gas station was robbed on Sunday morning, police say.

An armed robber stole cigarettes and cash from a gas station in Bellerose Terrace on Sunday, July 9, police say.

According to authorities, a man entered Shell Gas Station, located at 238-50 Jericho Turnpike, pointed a silver handgun at the clerk and demanded cash at 7:40 a.m.

The robber took several packs of cigarettes as well as an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot west on Jericho Turnpike.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the robber as black, about 50 to 60 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
