Herricks Receives $100K In State Funding

The funding will help integrate computer technology into the classroom.

The Herricks Union Free School District is the recipient of $100,000 in state funding that will help offset capital improvement costs and bring technology into the classrooms.

The State and Municipal (SAM) Grant, secured by Sen. Elaine Phillips, will provide the students the resources they need to receive further educational opportunities. Phillips announced that she secured the funding on Monday.

“A comprehensive education, integrated with the use of computer technology into students’ core class work, is key to future success as the world transitions into a more digital age,” Phillips said in a press release.
