Rye and New Rochelle earned spots on the list that took into account 162 factors, including home prices, housing availability and beach water quality. Rye entered the rankings in the 46 position. The Westchester city was the highest ranked beach town in New York for 2021. New Rochelle, meanwhile, comes in at 105 on the list, still ahead of other beach destinations in the region like Hamptons Bays and Long Beach. While beaches in tropical and sub-tropical locales, including Hawaii, Florida and the Carolinas dominated the list, New York was still well represented. Five Long Island Sound beach towns and seven Atlantic Ocean towns made the grade in the Empire State.
