2 Hudson Valley Beach Towns Named Among Best In U.S.
A pair of Sound shore towns were named among WalletHub's 2021 list of the best beach towns in the country.

WESTCHESTER, NY — Two Long Island Sound towns in the Hudson Valley region made WalletHub's 2021 list of the best beach towns to live in.
Rye and New Rochelle earned spots on the list that took into account 162 factors, including home prices, housing availability and beach water quality. Rye entered the rankings in the 46 position. The Westchester city was the highest ranked beach town in New York for 2021.
New Rochelle, meanwhile, comes in at 105 on the list, still ahead of other beach destinations in the region like Hamptons Bays and Long Beach.

While beaches in tropical and sub-tropical locales, including Hawaii, Florida and the Carolinas dominated the list, New York was still well represented. Five Long Island Sound beach towns and seven Atlantic Ocean towns made the grade in the Empire State.

In order, Naples, Florida, Laguna Beach, California, Lahaina, Hawaii, Newport Beach, California and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina claimed the top five spots in this year's survey.
