28-Year-Old Wounded In Overnight Mugging After Picking Up Food, Shooter Remains At Large

The victim was robbed of approximately $500 in cash, a cell phone, jewelry and the food order, according to New Rochelle police.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A mugging left a Westchester man wounded late Tuesday night, according to police.

The New Rochelle Police Department said it is investigating the shooting and robbery that happened Tuesday night, just before midnight. The gun violence took place at Union Avenue and Warren Street.

The victim, a 28-year-old New Rochelle resident, was robbed of approximately $500 in cash, a cellphone, jewelry, and a food order, cops said. During the robbery, the suspect shot the victim once in the thigh.

An unknown person took the victim to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover, according to police.
