A Grand Opening For A Grand Space At Modera Tower In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — With its official grand opening this week, the sparkly new Modera building downtown became more than just a great spot for a morning coffee.

City leaders and public figures joined developer Mill Creek this week to celebrate the official opening of the Modera at 111 Centre Avenue. New Rochelle's newest mixed-use residential building features 334 apartments and retail space.

"This community has certainly been a collaborative effort with the City of New Rochelle, and we’re humbled that many prominent local figures joined us for the Grand Opening," Mill Creek Residential Executive Russell Tepper told those gathered. "We’ve always believed that New Rochelle is one of the most dynamic submarkets in the greater New York City area, and our location near Main Street will put residents alongside a wide variety of attractions."

The Modera New Rochelle is within a five-minute walk of the New Rochelle train station and dozens of entertainment, dining and shopping options.

Grand opening attendees included New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, City Manager Charles Strome, Deputy City Manager Kathleen Gill and a who's who of commissioners and city council members, including District 1 Councilmember Martha Lopez-Hanratty.

"Modera New Rochelle is a welcome addition to our thriving downtown, which now boasts a range of housing types to suit every lifestyle," Bramson said. "Mill Creek has been an excellent partner in implementing New Rochelle's innovative development plan and achieving positive change for our entire community."

Modera New Rochelle was built to National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Building Standards. The property includes Cafetero, a locally owned and operated coffee shop that is the follow-up creation from the local purveyor of R Café and Tea Boutique. The ground floor space also includes an "art alley" featuring public art murals.

"Investing in our neighborhoods is one of the most important and impactful ways that we can continue to build up our community," Lopez-Hanratty said. "With the addition of Modera New Rochelle, our City is set to continue growing and developing for visitors and residents."

Luxury amenities at the brand new property include a concierge, a rooftop deck with views of NYC and the Long Island Sound, an outdoor swimming pool, a barbecue area, an outdoor theater, a fitness center with a yoga/Pilates studio, a group fitness area and TRX system, a pet-friendly dog park and pet spa, a resident clubhouse, a chef-inspired demo kitchen, digital package lockers, a game room, a virtual gaming area, an executive conference room, dedicated bike storage and controlled-access private garage parking.

Apartments at Modera include wood-plank flooring, nine- and 10-foot ceilings, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, custom 42-inch cabinetry, pendant lighting, high-end fixtures, tile backsplashes, in-home full-size washers and dryers, programmable thermostats, walk-in closets and breakfast bars. Bathrooms feature tile surrounds, soaking tubs and double vanities.

Thirty-three of the units have been set aside as affordable housing rentals.

The city manager said that the new tower is just one of dozens of new projects making a splash revitalizing the downtown in ways that will benefit everyone.
