Hudson Valley Restaurant Week Changing Price Structure For 1st Time

The region's best chefs will still be preparing 3-course prix fixe menus, but when the event returns this fall, there will be a change.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The largest dining event in the region will move to a tiered pricing menu when the highly anticipated Hudson Valley Restaurant Week returns in the fall.

From November 7 - 20, chefs throughout the region will be serving up delicious, creative dishes that feature locally sourced ingredients, but for the first time since Hudson Valley Restaurant Week started in 2006, tiered pricing will be offered.

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW), produced by The Valley Table magazine, takes place for two weeks every spring and fall, when participating restaurants offer special, three-course menus.

It was designed to boost business during traditionally slower periods of the year. According to The Valley Table, more than a quarter million consumers participate during each HVRW and over 90 percent of participating restaurants report an increase in sales during the two-week period.

During this past spring's Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, more than 100 eateries celebrated the local culinary scene throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Ulster, Orange, Sullivan and Dutchess counties.

Starting this fall, restaurants and diners will be able to choose between two different tiered price points:

  • Tier 1 dinners will cost $45.95, while Tier 1 lunches will cost $39.95.
  • Tier 2 dinners will cost $29.95, while Tier 2 lunches will cost $24.95.

Beverage, tax and tip are not included. Please remember to tip your servers and bartenders!

Restaurants have the option of offering dinner, lunch or both. Restaurants will also be able to offer their menus as take-out options and they may choose to not offer the HVRW menu on certain days.

A full list of restaurants participating along with their menus will be posted on the Valley Table website closer to the fall event. Reservations will be strongly encouraged (and sometimes required). While you're on the list, you will be able to book an online reservation through OpenTable by clicking on the "Book Now" button. If it's not available, just call the restaurant directly.
