New Rochelle Cancels Annual Street Fair
Organizers said it was a difficult decision, but it was best for the community and businesses.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Because of the uncertainly about the new coronavirus and in the interest of health and safety for the residents and businesses of New Rochelle, as well as visitors to the city, the Street Fair Committee decided to cancel the eighth annual New Rochelle Street Fair.
It was scheduled for Sept. 13.
Parks and Recreation Commission Bill Zimmermann said it was a difficult decision.

"We know how significant this event is to our community, performers and vendors," he said. "At this time, we feel this is the best decision for the welfare of everyone involved."
Zimmermann said the street fair is scheduled to resume in 2021.
