Suspects Tracked From Greenburgh Arrested In New Rochelle: Police

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — On Friday, New Rochelle police were alerted by the Westchester County Real Time Crime Center at 4:12 p.m. that a vehicle linked to a theft of a purse out of Greenburgh was in New Rochelle near Home Depot.

Officers located the vehicle parked and unoccupied in the Hope Depot parking lot and set up surveillance on the car.

Greenburgh police detectives were notified; but before they arrived, three people returned to the vehicle and started to drive away.

New Rochelle officers stopped it. They quickly learned that all three people in the car had extraditable warrants out of Delaware, police said.

They also found evidence the group of New Jersey residents had just made a fraudulent purchase at the Home Depot, police said.

Additionally, officers observed that there were four PlayStation 5 consoles, two Nintendo Switch gaming devices and other bagged items in plain sight in the vehicle. Their investigation found that the trio had made another fraudulent purchase at GameStop in New Rochelle before coming to Home Depot, police said.

The trio had a total of $6359.68 of alleged stolen property in their possession, police said.

The three suspects, all Paterson, NJ residents, were placed into custody without incident by New Rochelle police for local charges as well as the extraditable warrants out of Delaware.

• Marco Rodriguez-Perez, 58

They were all charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of stolen property and felony grand larceny. Also, they each face a charge as a fugitive from justice over an out-of-state felony, police said.
