
The annual meeting of the Southold Town Fire District Officers was held at the Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. The meeting included the election of officers for the year and a change in presidency.
Retiring president and former Carlisle “Ty” Cochran said farewell to the members as Arthur Brewer, of Cutchogue, was elected the new President.
Ty, who was president for the past two years, was presented a plaque by Arthur Brewer in appreciation for his service to the Fire Districts Association.

President Arthur Brewer is a 32-year member of the Cutchogue Fire Department, ex-chief and spent eight years as Commissioner. Artie will be an asset to the association.
Also elected officers was incoming Vice President Lloyd Reisenberg of Mattituck and Secretary/Treasurer Matthew Martin of Cutchogue.

Invited guests were Southold Town Chief of Police Martin Flatly and Deputy Director of the Suffolk County Fire Academy Robert Holley.
Formed 1972, the town fire districts association meets quarterly at the various firehouses and is comprised of the six town fire districts from Orient to Mattituck and Jamesport and Shelter Island.
The group was formed to provide periodic meetings of the town fire commissioners to discuss their common operations, plans and procedures concerning both the taxpayer and fire departments.
