Peconic Residents Married in NYC

Laura Hunsberger and Edward Pekarek were wedded on the evening of Thursday, February 16, 2012, by the Honorable Kevin Nathaniel Fox at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Federal Courthouse in New York, New York. The groom served previously as a law clerk for Judge Fox from 2007 to 2009, and is presently a securities law professor for Pace Law School in White Plains, New York. The bride is an agricultural researcher for Cornell University in Riverhead, New York.

The bride holds Bachelor’s degrees from The College of Wooster and SUNY Brockport, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The groom holds a Bachelor’s degree from The College of Wooster, a Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and an LL.M. from Fordham University. The bride’s parents, Donald and Polly Hunsberger, are both retired; her father was a professor of music for the Eastman School of Music and conductor of the Eastman Wind Ensemble and her mother a cellist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, they reside seasonally in Pittsford, New York and Chatham, Massachusetts. The groom’s parents, Edward and Margaret Pekarek, own and operate BillPro Management Systems, Inc., a Cleveland-based regional healthcare management firm, and reside in Munson Township, Ohio. The maid of honor was Jennifer Chislett, of Old Greenwich, Connecticut. The best man was Bernard Hessley, Esq., of Warren, Pennsylvania.

The couple’s college friendship blossomed romantically after re-connecting on facebook in 2009. Following a honeymoon in Costa Rica, the couple now resides in Peconic.
