Motorist Arrested After Driving While Intoxicated On North Ferry: Police
He was arrested Saturday, police say.
NORTH FORK, NY — A New Jersey man was arrested after driving while intoxicated on the North Ferry, Shelter Island police said.
According to the Shelter Island Town Police Department, Darryll W. VanWinkle, 36, of Morris Plains, was arrested and charged with DWI on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. following a report of an intoxicated motorist on the North Ferry.
He was transported to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport for medical evaluation and then released on appearance ticket, requiring him to appear at Shelter Island Justice Court at a later date, police said.
