🌱 North Fork Daily: Baby Needs New Heart + Drug Dealer To Prison

A Wading River baby needs a heart transplant. A drug dealer got a lengthy prison sentence. And there are even more holiday activities in Greenport.

Here are the top stories today in North Fork:

1. Lisa Finn writes that Marc LaMaina, owner of Lucharitos, wants Mattituck Cinemas to become an artistic hub for local high school students. He posted a call on social media for ideas to use the theater in creative ways. (Patch)
2. Next week will be a “12 Days of Takeout” event to benefit the Greater Jamesport Civic Association and its community service award scholarship. Restaurant On the Docks, 177 Meeting House Creek Road in Aquebogue, will offer a takeout menu and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the association and scholarship. (RiverheadLOCAL)
3. Patch talks to a Wading River family whose second baby needs a heart transplant. Everett Cotter, 11 months old, is getting an artificial heart. His parents, Brian and Ashley Cotter, have a daughter Ruby, who also needed a heart transplant two years ago. (Patch)
4. A Wading River woman was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison for helping her boyfriend operate a large-scale drug dealing operation that trafficked in cocaine, heroin and fentanyl. Amber Schatz and her boyfriend, Curtis Prussick, sold drugs from parking lots around Rocky Point. (Patch)
5. Northforker talks to renowned pastry chef François Payard about his plans for desserts at Southold General this winter and holiday season. He's creating Buche de Noel log cakes. (Northforker)
