Southold Democrats Offering $1,000 Reward to Find Obama Car Vandal

Committee Chairman says spray paint vandalism is 'new low' in attacks on Democratic candidates.

Southold Town Democratic Committee Chairman Arthur Tillman said that the committee is offering $1,000 to anyone who can tell Southold Town Police who is responsible for the vandalization of the car of Democratic committee woman Sally Kahn.

Kahn reported to police on Oct. 23 that someone had vandalized her Honda Accord with black spray paint, covering up Obama and Bishop political bumper stickers. The car was parked in her driveway on North Bayview Road while she was away from home Sunday and Monday, when she told police she believes the vandalism occurred.

"This is new low in attacks on Democrats and their candidates," Tillman said. "The vandalism is politically motivated and is an attempt to stifle opposition and free speech. The Southold Democratic Party takes this crime with the utmost seriousness."
