Central Nyack Man Indicted on Attempted Murder Charge in Shooting

A Central Nyack man has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City on charges of in Central Nyack in August.

Clarkstown police believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute over a woman known by both , 31, of 110 West Broadway, Central Nyack and the victim, a 41-year-old Central Nyack man.

Dunn has been indicted on charges of:

- Second-degree Attempted Murder

- First-degree Assault

- Second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon

- First degree Criminal Use of a Firearm.

District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said Dunn confronted the victim, who was sitting in his car outside his residence, on Aug 11 at about 4:50 a.m. Dunn is accused of opening fire on the victim at close range, wounding him in the arm.

The victim was treated at Nyack Hospital for a broken humerus bone caused by the gunshot.

The shooting launched an investigation and manhunt that led to Dunn's arrest at about 1:30 p.m. that same day when he was spotted in a car on Sherri Lane in Ramapo. He was arrested by Clarkstown police, with assistance from Ramapo police, without incident and later ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $500,000 bail.
