9 Froyo Cafe Grand Opening
  • Where: Cloud9 Froyo Cafe at 120 Main Street in Nayck
  • When: Friday, Sept. 27
  • Cost: Just the discounted prices on self-serve frozen yogurt
  • Description: There will be live samples and live entertainment all through the day Friday as Cloud9 Froyo Cafe celebrates its grand opening. Nyack Mayor Jennifer White will be there from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jamie's Face Painting will be there from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
St. Thomas Aquinas College Celebration of the Arts
  • Where: St. Thomas Aquinas College's Romano Student Alumni Center in Sparkill
  • When: Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Description: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Campaign for Artful Resistance: A Celebration of the Arts is organized by Save Our Schools, a national organization dedicated to turning away from test-based education and supporting the arts in the classroom. Grammy Award-winning musician Tom Chapin will perform in a family concert at 2 p.m. Other live entertainment will  include the Bossy Frog Band, storyteller Elise Krakower, Lou Gallo singing stories, the Hudson Valley Vagabond Puppets, Orangetown Poet Laureate Rose Marie Raccioppi, the Amazing Grace Circus student jugglers and the STAC ARt Therapy Club among others. Todd Wolfe Band CD Release Party
  • Where: Turning Point Cafe at 468 Piermont Ave. in Piermont
  • When: Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.
  • Cost: $20
  • Description: Blues-rock guitar player Todd Wolf and his band will perform in a CD release party for "Miles to Go"
