Nyack Man Arrested for Attacking Three With Box Cutter

Jimmy Robert of Nyack has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Orangetown police have arrested a man who is accused of slashing three people with a box cutter early this morning in Nyack.

The attack took place outside Main Street's Sky Lark cafe at approximately 2 a.m. The victims identified the attacker, Jimmy Robert, and he was arrested in the vicinity shortly afterward, according to police.

Robert is a 22-year-old Nyack resident. Police said Robert knew the victims, and had issues with them.

All three victims—two men and a woman—were transported to Nyack Hospital. One of the men's injuries was serious; he suffered a deep cut to his abdomen.

Robert has been charged with three separate counts of second-degree assault, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He was taken to the Orangetown Police Department in Orangeburg prior to arraignment in Town Court in Orangeburg.
