Penguin Rep Theater Cancels Weekend Shows Due To Covid

Performances will resume at Penguin's home facility, a repurposed 1880 barn in historic Stony Point, in 11 days.

STONY POINT, NY — Penguin Rep Theatre has cancelled this weekend’s performances of LET THERE BE LOVE by award-winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah due to a case of Covid-19 in the company.

Performances are postponed until Thursday, September 28 and will continue until Sunday, October 15 in Stony Point, New York.

Penguin Rep artistic director Joe Brancato says, “Let There Be Love is a charming, comic and moving work by one of Britain’s most distinguished playwrights that explores the friendships that form when we allow our similarities to outweigh our differences.”

Performances will resume at Penguin’s home facility, a repurposed 1880 barn in historic Stony Point (Rockland County), New York: Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. (September 28, October 5, October 12), Friday matinees at 2:00 p.m. (September 29, October 6), Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m. (October 13), Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (September 30, October 7, October 14), and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. (October 1, October 8, October 15).

There will be a tasting catered by Big Daddy’s Home Plate Barbeque of Haverstraw before the early show on Saturday, September 30; a reception following the performance on Sunday, September 24; and a discussion following the performance on Friday, October 13.
