Only two candidates will run for the two seats up for election May 21 on the South Orangetown School District Board of Education. Current board President Rosemary Pitruzzella and Dan Lamadrid will be the only names on the ballot. Incumbent Steve Spiro chose not to run again. The 2013-14 SOCSD budget will also go to the voters May 21. The budget calls for a 1.80 percent tax increase for residents of the district.
