Rockland County Kicks Off Annual Holiday Toy, Clothing Drive

The drive aims to collect toys and clothing for foster children and kids served by Rockland County's social services department.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Rockland County officials are asking for the public's help collecting toys, gifts and clothing items for foster children in the county, as well as those served by the county's Department of Social Services.

The effort is part of an annual toy drive to help ensure that every child in Rockland County has a gift to open on Christmas Day, the county said in a news release.

Those hoping to donate to the annual drive are asked to bring new, unwrapped gifts, toys and clothing items to one of the county's seven drop locations before Dec. 18, the last day of the toy drive.

County Executive Dd Day said the coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the families who are involved with social services.

“This has been a difficult year for all of us, but we still have so much to be thankful for as we enter the holiday season. Please consider donating to our 4th Annual Toy and Clothing Drive and help us help those children who need some warmth and a smile this holiday season. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support,” Day said in a statement.
