Sewer Repair Slows Main Street Traffic
A sewer problem has closed off one lane on a segment of Main Street and snarled traffic.
Backed up sewers on Nyack's Main Street have also backed up traffic.
Construction and repair authorities responded to a sewer problem at 167 Main St. this afternoon, tunneling several feet below the pavement to mend the damaged pipes.
As a result, traffic was halted coming from both directions, and only one lane was in use on the 100 block.

Nearly ten repair vehicles—including a dump truck and steam shovel—were called in to dig and haul away excess and damaged materials.
Construction workers noted they will continue to work on the sewers until the problem is remedied sometime later today. Traffic will once again be slowed tomorrow when they repave the area, the workers added.
