$3.4M Croton-Harmon School District Spending Plan Approved

School district voters OK'd the plan to spend as much as $3.4M from the district's reserves.

The Croton-Harmon School District's plan to expend up to $3.4 million that it has in its capital reserve funds was given a "thumbs up" by voters last night. The money will be used to fix up the district's buildings.

Project that can now go forward include:

  • Reconstructing bus lanes
  • Asphalt repaving
  • Site drainage
  • Brick and stone restoration
  • Walkway repair
  • Stair repair
  • Retaining wall repair
  • Ramp repair
  • Auditorium renovations to the stage area
  • Auditorium renovations to the HVAC system to include air conditioning
  • Building an addition and septic system upgrade at the transportation facility

The school district says that no new taxes will be created because of the vote. Officials say that's because the money for the projects comes from the district's capital reserve funds.
