Beware of Croton Chimney Sweep Scammers

Croton residents beware—men posing as chimney sweeps are trying to scam the elderly. A new report in the NC Advertiser, by Assistant Editor Matt Dalen, says the fake chimney sweeps fabricate chimney problems, and then stick the victims with the bill.

Police say there has been at least one such case in Croton—and the scam has happened previously in New Canaan.

The scammers use the company name All Seasons Chimney. They do a cleaning and then fabricate chimney problems. Next, they give victims an inflated quote to fix the fake problem—then they negotiate down—and then take off with the payment.
