C.A.C.T.I. Participates In Omar Q Beckins Tournament
A Croton Academic Challenge team defeated all teams from Westchester and Fairfield counties to place first in the Omar Q Beckins Tournament.

From Croton-Harmon HS: Members of Croton-Harmon High School’s “A” Croton Academic Challenge team, or C.A.C.T.I., beat out competitors from across Westchester and Fairfield counties, as well as the Bronx, winning first place in the grueling Omar Q. Beckins Tournament on March 4 and 5.
“Going into Saturday’s seven preliminary rounds, C.A.C.T.I. “A” was seeded six, while “B” was 17 th ,” said C.A.C.T.I. advisor Brett Bowden. “When the smoke cleared by day’s end, C.A.C.T.I. left with a 6-1 record and the second seed overall and an invitation to return on Sunday for the finals, along with Edgemont, Hastings and Irvington.”
The team returned to White Plains High School for the second day of competition on March 5, with team members Sophie Bauder, Jack Mahoney, William Mahoney and Sarah Seidman bringing their a-game to the tournament. In the final “Stump the Experts” round, C.A.C.T.I. faced off with Edgemont and won with a score of 315-255.

Jack and William Mahoney were selected to the all-tournament team. In addition, the team will compete in the national academic championships in Washington D.C. this June.
