Grab your binoculars and camera—we're going to EagleFest!

The 8th Annual Hudson River Eaglefest kicks off this morning. The first event begins at 9 a.m. As anyone who has been there before will tell you, it isn't just about watching magnificent birds. The festival is all about fun activities for the kids, like storytelling, and plenty of fun and informational on-stage events.

Here's the long and short of the bald eagle celebration:

  • Guided and independent eagle viewing
  • Story telling
  • Children's programs and activities
  • Heated tents
  • bus tours leaving from Croton Point Park, George's Island Park in Montrose, and Riverfront Green in Peekskill ($25 per person)
  • Eagle Train from Grand Central Station with naturalist Paul Keim, leaving at 9:52 a.m. on the Metro North Hudson Line with stops at Croton Harmon and Peekskill (board a free shuttle bus to EAgle Headquarters at Croton Point Part or Riverfront Green).

Seats in the Eagle Theatre are $5 in advance or $10 at the door.
