The first day of school may be closer than you think. So, it’s time to dust off those backpacks and make some plans. To help, here are some important dates in the 2016-17 Croton-Harmon School District calendar:

First day of school: Sept. 1
Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5
Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3, Oct. 4
Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct 12
Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10
Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): Nov. 8
Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11
Early Release: Nov. 23
Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 24-25
Holiday recess: Dec. 26-Dec. 30, Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16
Winter Recess (school closed): Feb. 20 - 24
Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): March 21
Holiday recess: April 10-17
Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 29
Last day of school: June 23
Snow days: If no snow days are used, school will be closed on April 18, April 19 and May 26. If one snow day is used, school will be closed on April 18 and May 26. If two snow days are used, school will be closed on May 26.
