All Clear After Lesser Snowstorm Than Predicted

Though schools closed or dismissed super-early – to the grumblings of many parents – police report no local troubles and the day has cleared up without much accumulation.

Croton-on-Hudson Police Det. Paul Camillieri reported at 11:30 a.m. that there had been no accidents Tuesday, save a minor one at 7:30 a.m. that may not have even been snow-related.

In any case, “the kids are home now,” he said of Croton’s early dismissal. “Fingers crossed there’s no problems. There’s been nothing as of yet.”

The snow situation turned out to be pretty meager, with roads more wet than slick.

Despite the National Weather Service's forecast of 3 to 5 and then 2 to 4 inches, there's little to show now for today's storm. Here's the latest for tonight: "Mostly clear, with a low around 19. West wind 8 to 13 mph." Check here for updates.
