Major Water Main Break in Croton

Right now workers are trying to repair a broken water main in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson. Officials are describing the break as "major."

"The main location of the break is on Municipal Place at the Route 9 highway overpass where a 12 inch main ruptured for unknown reasons sometime before 5 a.m. this morning," said Croton Mayor Leo Wiegman.

Assistant Village Manager Janine King is telling residents that their water may become brown due to the break. The incident may also cause low water pressure.

It is unknown when the break will be repaired.
