Open Door Wants Crossing Guard at Sleepy Hollow Clinic
However, there's at least one point in Open Door's three-point plan that the village takes issue with.
Open Door's much contested move to a new location in Sleepy Hollow is still stuck in boardroom limbo.
To an audience of citizens gathered for "Candidates Night" leading up to the uncontested elections, Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray talked of Open Door's three-point plan to gain official zoning acceptance on their purchased but still-unsuitable space at New Broadway/North Broadway.

Open Door:
- has offered to provide shuttle service for their staff to and from Phelps Memorial Hospital,
- is requesting a variance for 33 parking spaces within the village,
- and said they would provide a crossing guard for the difficult intersection the building squats on.

In the end though, this is a matter for the Zoning Board, not the Board of Trustees, Wray said. The Zoning Board being the only entity which can overturn local code.
One resident bemoaned another big nonprofit taking up a space that won't help the village's "ugly" budget problem. "Do we really need another tax-exempt building?" she asked.
