Ossining-Area Homeless Man Charged with Burglary
Investigators say 18-year-old Rajeam Jackson burglarized a Cortlandt apartment.

The following release is from the New York State Police:
On 01/25/12, at approximately 6:35am, the State Police in Cortlandt received a 911 call advising of a Burglary in Progress in the Springvale Apartments located off St-9A in the Town of Cortlandt.
Responding troopers located three suspicious subjects in the immediate area and attempted to interview them. Two of the three fled on foot and were apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The third did not flee and it was determined that he was not involved.

The two subjects were identified as Rajeam Jackson (18 years old) and a 15 year old male juvenile. Jackson is homeless from the Poughkeepsie/Ossining area and the 15 year old was determined to be a Juvenile Runaway from the Endenwald School located in Pleasantville.
Investigation revealed that the subjects unlawfully entered an apartment in the complex and stole money. They then attempted to enter another apartment in the same complex, but were scared off after a neighbor screamed when she saw them. Both subjects were charged with one count of Burglary-2nd and one count of Attempted Burglary-2nd. Both defendants are awaiting arraignment with Jackson going to the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and the juvenile going to the Westchester County Family Court.
