Local magazine names Ossining as the best place for architecture admirers.

Westchester Magazine has name Ossining as the best place for architecture admirers. The acknowledgement comes as no surprise to those who live in the volunteer-spirited town.

Westchester magazine says Ossining's churches, Victorian downtown buildings and Art Deco bank building are just some of the reasons for it being honored. The preservation and revitalization of the downtown is a result of the hard work of many Town and Village of Ossining officials, as well as a large number of dedicated residents.

As Ossining's 200th anniversary approaches, former Mayor Miguel Hernandez is working to create a so that pedestrians can recognize and learn more about our historic buildings.

Another entity responsible for Ossining maintaining its character is the . The nonprofit institution, located on Croton Ave., has been in existence since 1931.
