Ossining police responded to a call that a man had been stabbed at the gas station at Spring and Broad streets on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 2:30 p.m.
Police arrived to find a 32-year-old Ossining man "bleeding profusely" from several knife wounds from his neck and throat, Lt. William Sullivan said.
The man was taken by Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Westchester Medical Surgery where he underwent surgery.
After investigation, police charged another 32-year-old Ossining man, Teair J. Ridenhour, of State Street, with attempted murder in the second degree.
He was arraigned and taken to Westchester County Jail with no bail set pending a court date.
To make matters worse, "this was the second time the same victim had been slashed in the throat," Sullivan said. The man was reportedly injured in the same way on August 24 in Ossining, an incident for which police have made no arrest.
They've also made no official link between these cases, Sullivan said, however he did say that there seems to be an ongoing fight between the two men.
Ridenhour had minor injuries at the time of his arrest, but Sullivan said police don't know if that was from the fight between the men. Police did not recover a knife from the scene.
Sullivan said that Ridenhour has a prior felony conviction for criminal possession of a weapon, namely a knife.
