The "Croton-on-Hudson" is a Sandwich!
We explain why a Brooklyn eatery is selling a "Croton-on-Hudson" sandwich.

At Patch we like to know about everything Croton-on-Hudson and Ossining. Today we found a Brooklyn eatery that sells a Croton-on-Hudson sandwich. The sandwich is found at Sips & Bites at 178 N.10th Street between Bedford & Driggs.
The Croton-on-Hudson culinary delight is a roasted chicken sandwich with caramelized onion, garlic confit, broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella on ciabatta.
We called up Sips & Bites to see why they would have named a sandwich Croton-on-Hudson. Owner Molly Quirk picked up the phone and explained how the name made the trip to the "land down under."

"I'm from Croton... I grew up there and my mother still lives there. I went to high school there," said Quirk.
So if you're ever in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, stop by the eatery and talk a little Croton with Molly the owner.
