Tuesday, Dec. 3

_Ossining's Holiday Tree Lighting is at 6:30 p.m. on Main and Spring Street. Santa and his elves will join the Village of Ossining at its annual tree lighting at Market Square. Enjoy the spirit of the season with Christmas carols and refreshments. More here.

_The Ossining Board of Ed will hold a work session at 7:30 p.m. to continue discussion on the Harbor Square PILOT.

_The Village of Ossining holds its Board of Trustees meeting where they plan to adopt their budget. From the resolution:

  • "NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ossining does hereby adopt the Budget of the Village of Ossining for the Fiscal Year 2014, showing that there be levied and assessed upon the sum of taxable and special franchise properties of the Village of Ossining, as hereinbefore listed, the sum of $20,875,424. to be raised by Real Property Tax Levy, which sum is more completely set forth in the budget for the Village of Ossining; and Be it Further Resolved, that the Tax Rate rounded to the nearest penny and the same hereby is fixed at $186.9053 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation."

Wednesday, Dec. 4

_Croton Village tree lighting will be Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in Vassallo Park. The evergreen will be lit for the season. Everyone is invited to join the festivities. 

Friday, Dec. 6

_The 31st annual Westchester Senior Hall of Fame luncheon in the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown will honor 57 including two Ossining residents this year: Michael Greene and Thelma McFadden. Stay tuned for more on these outstanding citizens and their contributions. Tickets to the luncheon are $60 each.
