Einhorn: We have been in our Oyster Bay location for nearly two decades. It's the perfect location since it's a big corner store in a town with such an interesting history.

Einhorn: The store has its beginnings in coins and collectibles. Ira, the owner, is a world-renowned coin dealer β€” he's even in the Guinness Book of World Records!

As the prices of precious metals skyrocketed, people were flocking to Coin Galleries of Oyster Bay to cash in their unwanted jewelry, flatware, etcetera. That was when I came on board. I was originally brought in as a buyer, but I didn't have much of an interest in coins. I began refurbishing some of the pieces of jewelry and reselling them at heavily discounted prices, and a few years later, The Jewelry Gallery was born. We now manufacture a line in our store, have a master jeweler on premises, stock several watch lines and create all kinds of amazing custom work.

Patch: Describe your work in three words.

Einhorn: Sparkly, rewarding, evolving.

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your job?

Einhorn: It's incredibly challenging to rebrand ourselves as The Jewelry Gallery. People that live around the corner still come in and say, "I had no idea you sold jewelry."

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of what you do?

Einhorn: I love revealing a custom piece that my customer has been dreaming of. It's always exciting to watch their face when they see it for the first time β€” especially an engagement ring!

Patch: You’re not alone in your field. How do you distinguish yourself from the others?

Einhorn: We are a family-owned business. We're always available. I constantly have customers dropping off their jewelry at my house so I can steam it for them or just to get their finger size for a ring. Also, our prices can't be beat!

Patch: As the captain of your own proverbial ship, what’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?

Einhorn: Figure out what you love to do and figure out a way to make money doing it. You'll never go to work a day in your life if you love what you do.

Patch: What’s the best place in Oyster Bay for a business meeting?

Einhorn: There are a lot of great places in Oyster Bay! Nikkei, which opened right next door recently, is delicious. If we're looking for something quick and low-key, one of our favorites is Nino's Pizza!

Patch: How is The Jewelry Gallery involved in the Oyster Bay community?

Einhorn: Our latest involvement is an engagement ring giveaway! We are giving away a beautiful 1 carat GIA-certified diamond engagement ring to help a deserving couple achieve their dream of getting engaged.
