Dad Charged After 11-Year-Old Confronts Teen Bicyclist With Gun: NCPD
Investigation determined that the Bayville resident, 11, never pointed the shotgun at anyone and no one was placed in danger, police said.
BAYVILLE, NY β A father faces charges after his son pointed a shotgun at a kid riding a bicycle near their house, Nassau County police said.
Police were called Tuesday afternoon by the parents of a 13-year-old, who told police he was riding his bike on 7th Street when a boy came out of a house carrying a black shotgun and told the bicyclist to get away from his home. The bicyclist said he feared for his safety, returned home, and reported the incident to his parents.
Officers went to the house and spoke to the boy's father, who told police he did in fact
possess various weapons.

Alfredo Caceres, 55, voluntarily relinquished an unloaded Mossberg Maverick 20 Gauge shotgun, an unloaded Mossberg 12 Gauge shotgun and an unloaded Crossman .22 caliber pellet gun to officers. They were easily and readily accessible and unsecured, police said. He was placed under arrest without incident and the weapons were confiscated.
Further investigation determined that the boy, 11, never pointed the shotgun at anyone and no one was placed in danger, police said.

Caceres is charged with first-degree failure to safely store firearms. He is due in court Sept. 17.
