Join us for our first Contra Dance of 2026! We’re hosting a dance especially for beginner contra dancers, with calling from Lyss Adkins and featuring the Quebecois tunes of Gus La Casse and Pepin Mittelhauser.

Contra is the perfect social dance to get new dancers started, with a 30-minute free lesson all you need to enjoy the next three hours of dancing.

Contra is an easy-to-learn folk dance (similar to square dancing with some swing dance flair) that comes with a free lesson and amazing live tunes! Originating in northern Appalachia based on English and French formal dances, contra is now danced around the country by multi-generational communities. Bringing a partner isn't necessary as folks switch partners between each dance.

Beginner's lesson included with admission! ($15)
