A Tree Grows For Moose The Dog In Brooklyn's Prospect Park
"I'm just glad Moose's memory is in the park," said Jessica Chrustic at a memorial planting for her dog, who died after a man attacked them.

"I'm just glad Moose's memory is in the park," said Jessica Chrustic at a memorial planting for her dog, who died after a man attacked them.

“Pets are very welcome to join the ceremony,” said Jessica Chrustic about the planting to honor her dog that died after an August attack.
"If we encounter this guy in the park, nobody says how to proceed," Lt. Kamala Roper reportedly said. "We don’t know what to do."
Months after Moose the dog was beaten in Prospect Park, the 78th Precinct's captain told Patch officers are refocusing their investigation.
“I’m being chased by a man with a stick and you want to just sit there and say I’m sorry?" Jessica Chrustic said. "Sorry does not cut it."
"No one should have to run from their attacker for a second time while waiting for police to arrive,” Jessica Chrustic said.
City Hall and the NYPD press office both denied the case was closed, but Jessica Chrustic said a Park Slope cop told her otherwise.
A new petition demands Mayor Adams to catch the man who fatally attacked Moose the dog, leaving his owner frightened and bereft.
The founder of the group wants to find simpler solutions to help the community.
A Windsor Terrace woman says she reported to police three years ago that a man attacked her dog with a stick in Prospect Park.
A man who beat Moose the dog with a stick earlier this month has been seen several times, raising safety concerns among park-goers.
"He was just the goofiest, sweetest big fluffer," Jessica Chrustic said of Moose, her voice cracking. "He was the best."
