80s Heavy Metal Band RATT's Stephen Pearcy To Perform On Long Island
The singer/songwriter is best known for tunes like "Wanted" and "Round And Round," and is the author of "Sex, Drugs, & RATT 'n' Roll."
PATCHOGUE, NY — Stephen Pearcy, the voice of the legendary heavy metal band, RATT, will perform in January at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Pearcy, the founder, lead singer, and songwriter for the band, is credited as the pioneer of the early 80s Sunset Strip rock scene in Los Angeles, theatre officials said.
He formed RATT in LA in 1982 from his previous band, Mickey RATT, and its members became known for their overtly sexual appearance, rebellious attitude and take-no-prisoner approach to music, according to theatre officials.

Atlantic Records recognized RATT’s potential and star power, thus signing the band to a contract resulting in the 1984 album “Out of the Cellar,” which became one of many multi-platinum successes, theatre officials said.
The album generated top 10 singles followed by sold-out tours throughout the world, according to theatre officials.

The band is best known for songs like “Wanted” and “Round and Round.”
Throughout RATT’s nearly four decades of success with Pearcy at its helm, they released 8 albums and played thousands of shows worldwide all the while selling over 20 million records, theatre officials said.
RATT and Mickey RATT songs have been featured regularly in film and television, including movies like “Point Break,” “Weird Science,” “The Golden Child,” and “The Wrestler,” as well as shows like “Stranger Things,” “Wicked City,” “Cobra Kai,” “The Goldbergs,” and “Young Sheldon.”
In 1992, Pearcy explored other areas of interest and created the band, ARCADE, with Cinderella’s drummer, Fred Coury. His first solo debut was in 2002, with “Social Intercourse.”
He starred in the 2002 cult horror classic, “Camp Utopia,” playing the camp slasher and cult leader, Timothy Bach.
Pearcy became a New York Times Best-selling author with his tell-all hit, “Sex, Drugs, and RATT ‘n’ Roll: Life in Rock.”
In 2020, Year of the Rat, RATT starred in a Geico Insurance commercial, helping coin the catchphrase, "We have a RATT Problem."
It was then that the band’s "Round and Round" recharted on Billboard’s Top 10 Hard Rock Digital Song Sales. Its members headlined The Big Rock Summer Tour that year as well.
Pearcy currently runs his production company, Top Fuel Entertainment, of which his new docuseries "Backstage Past" is in development, along with the Stephen Pearcy Rockumentary.
Tickets for Pearcy's Jan. 21 performance will run $49 to $79, including fees and can be purchased in person at 71 East Main St., Patchogue, by phone at 631-207-1313, or online at: https://ci.ovationtix.com/34780/production/1178032?performanceId=11352753
