Toyota Catches Fire On Sunrise Highway In Patchogue: Police

The right lane was blocked for around a half hour, Suffolk police said.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A sedan caught fire on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue, snarling traffic on Monday morning, Suffolk police said.

Highway Patrol officers responded to a Toyota on fire in the eastbound lane of Sunrise Highway, near Exit 52, at around 9:17 a.m., according to police. The right lane was closed from around 9:24 a.m. until about 10 a.m., police said.

The North Patchogue Fire Department responded to the scene.
