Arson Investigating Blaze At Recycling Plant On Long Island: Police
The flames were doused by the Medford Fire Department, and no one was injured, Suffolk police said.

MEDFORD, NY — Arson Squad detectives are investigating a trash fire that broke out at Gershow Recycling in Medford on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
The fire broke out at the Peconic Avenue location just before 3 p.m., drawing area firefighters.
Firefighters saw a deep-seated fire "with multiple exposure issues," so mutual aid was quickly requested from all surrounding departments, the Medford Fire Department said in a post on Facebook.

"With the help of our neighbors, along with the dedicated members of the Medford Fire Department, the incident was placed under control at 5:52pm," the post read.
Altogether eight fire departments responded with Medford, including Yaphank, North Patchogue, Hagerman, Holtsville, Farmingville, Selden, and Patchogue. Two ambulance companies, Medford and Shirley, as well as the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal's office, Suffolk County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services, and Metroplitan Transportation Police, responded.

No one was injured.
It was not immediately clear if the fire is deemed suspicious.
