LI School Custodian Had Stash of Weapons, Drugs at His Home: Cops
Sixteen guns were among the items seized after police executed a search warrant at the 30-year-old's home Wednesday morning.

PATCHOGUE, NY – A 30-year-old Long Island man who works as a school custodian was arrested after police found a stash of weapons and drugs inside his home Wednesday morning, police said.
Following an investigation, Fifth Squad Special Operations Team (SOT) detectives, with the assistance of Emergency Service Section officers and Fifth Precinct Gang Unit officers, executed a search warrant at 57 Wilmarth Ave. in Patchogue around 5:35 a.m, Suffolk Police said.
One Glock semiautomatic handgun, a Taurus semiautomatic handgun, a Ruger pistol, a Smith & Wesson pistol, four assault rifles, six shotguns, two rifles and five sets of brass knuckles, and a switchblade were seized, police said. Two of the pistols were previously reported stolen.

In addition to the weapons, quantities of oxycodone, Xanax, concentrated cannabis, marijuana, morphine pills, assorted boxes of ammunitions, cash, and packaging materials were seized from the house, police said.
Patrick Musumeci, a resident of the home, was arrested and faces numerous felony charges. Musumeci is employed as a custodian for the Commack School District.

"As soon as we learned that a custodian had been arrested by the Suffolk County Police Department, he was immediately suspended pending the outcome of an investigation," a statement on the Commack School District's website reads. "The employee has been directed not to enter upon district property, and all security personnel have been made aware. We want the community to know that we have no knowledge that this custodian was ever in possession of a weapon while on school property."

Musumeci will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
