Man, Dog Rescued From Water In Suffolk Early Tuesday: Police

He had jumped in to try and save his dog, police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A Holbrook man and his dog were rescued from the water in Patchogue Tuesday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident happened at the Mascot Dock and Marina at 3:26 a.m.

Ethan Brako, 20, was crabbing at when his dog, Brina, a 2-year-old pit bull, jumped into the water; Brako jumped in but was unable to get out of the water, police said.

Marine Bureau Officers Kyle Profit and Tyler Mankowski-Hassett, aboard Marine X-Ray, responded to a 911 call reporting the pair in the water and rescued Brako and Brina; Brako and Brina were not injured, police said.
