  1. A dumpster site located in the Terry Street parking lot in Patchogue is causing rat problems, according to residents in the area. A longtime resident, Jorge Orellana, affirmed the problem started since the dumpster was placed across the street. According to attorney Brian Egan, the town will find a solution for pest control in the area and consolidate the commercial collection district and eventually rework the way the garbage is collected.   2. Patchogue Chamber of Commerce reminds the community of the St. Patchogue Fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 27, from noon-3 p.m. The event will be held at James Joyce Irish Pub as we kick off our St. Patrick’s Irish Heritage Celebrations in Patchogue. (CofC)
  3. A woman who was delivering food to a North Bellport neighborhood was carjacked. The incident happened last Thursday, Feb. 17, the identity of the woman has not been released but according to the police, she was working in the area when three men approached her and drove off with her in the vehicle. No further details were released by police and no arrests were made. (Patchogue Patch)

  5. Nearby News: Suffolk County Police rescued a suicidal man in Coram. The man was threatening to jump out of a building roof located at 356 Middle Country Road.
