- A retired teacher from Bellport High School pleaded guilty after he threatened violence against a pride-themed Alive After Five festival in Patchogue and other LGBTQ-friendly groups. Robert Fehring, 74, pleaded guilty in federal court in Central Islip on Feb. 23 for sending threatening letters between June 2013 and September 2021. (Greater Patchogue)

- Brookhaven Town is completing plans to build a Blue Point park with walking trails at the site of a laundry business that closed more than two decades ago.
